    Dull Violet Perf. 12 large part original brownish gum which has stained the paper. Perfs somewhat rough as usual for this stamp, and tone spot on reverse which shows through on the face at lower left. A very rare stamp. SG 174, Cat. £1500

    Variety ‘Cracked Plate’ pos. [26], the selection comprising Royal Purple Perf. 13 (4, one in a block of four), Deep Rose-lilac Perf. 13, and Deep Purple Perf. 13 in pair. A very scarce group, and fine except for minor faults on one or two (10)

    5/- ‘Coin’ - the collection largely used comprising Dull Violet Perf. 13 (4 mint, three no gum, and 34 used, incl a pair and one on piece with 1/-, also two opt diagonal ‘SPECIMEN’, one imperf. but presumably trimmed), Royal Purple Perf. 13 (20, incl on piece with 1/-), Rose-lilac Perf. 10 (5), Deep Purple Perf. 13 (43, one unused) and Perf. 10 (4 incl a pair), Reddish-purple Perf. 10 and Perf. 12 x 10 (2), Rose-lilac Perf. 11 (2). Mostly fine and a very useful accumulation of high catalogue value (115)
