    1870-71 Sidefaces 1d Rose-red Wmk '10' pair and single used on 1870 (26 Nov) mourning cover from Launceston to Carlton (Vic), adhesives tied by barred numeral '52' and by diamond 'POST-OFFICE/LAUNCESTON' ds in red, backstamped Melbourne and Carlton ds, DE 1 70. Fine and a very early use of this stamp which had been issued on 1 November 1870

Minor gum creasing in selvedge, otherwise fine with lower units (including variety) MUH

Krichauff at Adelaide, with straight-line 'REGISTERED', and 'REGISTERED/ADELAIDE' backstamp (JU 8 87). Fine and very attractive registered intercolonial Cover

    1889-91 Surcharges group of usages, with d on 1d (2) on 1890 printed matter cover to New Zealand, d on 1d and 2d on 9d on philatelic 1900 2d registration envelope to Germany, 2d on 9d solo uses on 1891 covers to London (2), and 1899 cover to Transvaal (latter cover faults, but with undeliverable handstamp), 2d on 9d pair on 1893 registered cover to Adelaide, and 2d on 9d (3) on 1894 2d registration envelope (embossed flap missing) to Belgium. Generally fine and a scarce group (7)

    1889-91 Surcharges - 1901 Reprints for Federal Presentation Set with Imperforate on Ungummed White Card d on 1d blocks of 6 (2, one surcharge misplaced), and interpane strip of 6 (three surcharge misplaced); Perf 11 on Gummed White Card d on 1d block of 12 and single, and 2d on 9d interpane block of 8 in Pale Blue, and block of 12 in Deep Blue, all very fine (51)

    1891 Sidefaces Watermark 'TAS' Type II Perf 11 d Orange pair tied by Hobart Duplexes to 1890 (30 Aug) cover with printed 'CIRCULAR ONLY' addressed to Philadelphia, endorsed 'Via S. Frisco', and with Philadelphia and Bethlehem arrival ds of 4 and 5 October respectively. Cover opened out and slightly reduced at left, but a scarce use of the d Sideface for the foreign circular rate
