    Envelopes: 1898 2d pictorial envelope 'On the North Esk near Launceston' Fine unused

    Envelopes: 1898 2½d pictorial envelope 'Mount King William' unused. Discolouration at lower right, otherwise fine

    Envelopes: 1898 2½d pictorial envelope 'Government House, Hobart' with Hobart CTO. Fine

    Estimate: $375 Realised Price : $440

    Registration Envelopes: 1884 4d HG2a used Launceston (20.5.1887) to Cape of Good Hope bearing 2d De La Rue (2 x pair and single) and 1d De La Rue. Few opening faults at right and address partly erased but a very rare overseas registered article and the only example of mail to the Cape in the pre-UPU period

    Estimate: $125

    Registration Envelopes: 1903 registration envelope (127 x 78mm) HG4 used Hobart (28.4.1908) to Sydney with 2d pictorial affixed. Mild toning but rather uncommon

     

    Lot 497
    Estimate: $120

    PTPO Wrappers: 1882? ½d orange embossing on PTPO newspaper wrappers each on different coloured paper and each with printed 'Newspaper Only.' and 'From' within lines for the senders details. One defective at rear and another with small stain but the balance clean and attractive unused (6)

     

    Lot 498
    Estimate: $75

    'The Chief Secretary' frank in blue on unused small envelope with pre-printed 'On Public Service only', 'Boys' Home Subscription' and address of 'Mr E Hawson, Hobart' plus 1890 (11 Feb) 'Secretary of the General Post Office' frank also in blue used on official envelope to Launceston. A few faults and hinge remains on rear but both presentable (2)
