Few opening faults at right and address partly erased but a very rare overseas registered article and the only example of mail to the Cape in the pre-UPU period

One defective at rear and another with small stain but the balance clean and attractive unused (6)
Lot 498		Estimate: $75 'The Chief Secretary' frank in blue on unused small envelope with pre-printed 'On Public Service only', 'Boys' Home Subscription' and address of 'Mr E Hawson, Hobart' plus 1890 (11 Feb) 'Secretary of the General Post Office' frank also in blue used on official envelope to Launceston. A few faults and hinge remains on rear but both presentable (2)
