    1870 2d Dull Lilac-mauve De La Rue design handstamped 'SPECIMEN' Type 6a (15 x 2mm with stop), no gum and with some peripheral toning. According to Kellow, Turner & McCredie, only three examples are recorded, two of which are in private hands. This is the example illustrated by the authors

MUH with some adhesions and minor perf separation in selvedge, somewhat gum toned

One strip with three units thinned, both strips with slight toning in selvedge at right edge, otherwise fine with most units MUH. BW V52z/za (2004), cat AU$780+
