    1860-66 'Beaded Oval' Watermark 'FOUR PENCE' 4d Dull Rose variety 'Cracked Electro Through Upper Portion of Stamp', showing portion of unit above. Few perf defects as typical for this issue, light Barred Numeral cancellation, and a good example of this important and scarce plate variety. SG 92c var

    1877 (Jan 18) incoming cover from Birmingham to Little Bendigo with 3d Plate 18 and 6d Plate 15 cancelled duplex, endorsed 'Via Brindisi'. Rated as double weight (8d x 2), with 'DEFICIENT POSTAGE "7d"/FINE _____ "6d"' handstamp added prior to despatch, oval '1/-/MORE TO PAY' altered in mss to '1/1' (probably applied at Geelong) with Geelong and Ballarat backstamps. Tear at lower left wit h some peripheral faults, but very scarce

    1880 (Aug 12) incoming cover from Birnam, Scotland to Melbourne with 6d Plate 17 cancelled '37', rated as double weight (6d x 2), and with fair handstruck 'DEFICIENT POSTAGE 6d/HALF-FINE_____6d/1/-' added prior to despatch, oval '1s/MORE TO PAY' applied on arrival at Melbourne (SE 20 80 backstamp). Minor soiling, otherwise fine
