Mayer/Capt./Berrima' endorsed on flap (one of two active duty German officers in German New Guinea) 'R.S. Sands/Liverpool' signature cachet (Emery type CA.228) and straight-lined 'Moved C.E.S. No.49' scored over in pencil, includes original contents with printed letter-head with pen stroke through 'LIVERPOOL' and endorsed 'Berrima'. Contents of letter portraying the life of a P.O.W.
