Owens, one adhesive fallen off and mail later carried in June by Lester Brain from Brisbane to Sydney, on arrival a Concord Post Office 'STAMP/MISSING WHEN/RECEIVED AT/CENTRAL/CONCORD P.O. (initialled), AAMC No 130 $AU700. Only 20 carried

    1938 (27 Dec) registered airmail cover from Perth to Italy (re-addressed) bearing Kangaroo 2/- Maroon, KGVI 2d Red Die II (x 2) and 4d Koala, paying 2/5d rate + 3d registration

    1939-50 extensive range of airmails from Europe mostly to the same addressee in Sydney but a few to London. Including mail from Belgium with 1939 cover franked 12 x 1F75c and pair 1F, Switzerland with 1940 and 1941 censored covers, Saar, Italy with two 1939 censored covers, Greece, Monaco, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Italy including registered express covers. Mixed condition (70)

    1939 (22 Jul) Guinea Airways cover flown Adelaide-Koepang via Darwin where Netherlands East Indies 45c affixed and tied, signed by the entire crew and passenger J.V. Fairbairn, Minister for Civil Aviation, AAMC #872

    1939 (20 Aug) airmail cover Prague to Sydney franked with tied Bohemia & Moravia 2K, pair 1.50K and 50h adhesives and struck with the framed 'T..../5A' handstamp on arrival. Additionally franked 3d and ½d Australian postage dues and tied by manuscript cancels. Tiny tear at top. Exotic taxed item

    1939 (3 Nov) and 1940 (6 May) (torn and roughly opened at left) censored airmail covers Lisbon to Sydney the first franked 5$ & 1$75, the other 10$, 1$75 & 2$ and both bearing 'PASSED BY CENSOR/S.1 (or S.14)' handstamps. Airmail from the Iberian peninsula rather scarce at this date

    Estimate: $75

    1939 (23 Nov) and (25 Nov) censored (both with Egyptian censor tape at sides) covers from Genoa, Italy both to Port Said, the first by airmail and bearing 50c & 1L25c adhesives and redirected to Sydney (b/s). The front with framed 'Not Known by Postmen/ CASTLEREAGH STREET' with completed spaces for postmens’ signatures on each of the six days delivery attempts were made before succeeding. The other franked 2L75c & 75c adhesives and re-directed to Colombo and then re-directed to Sydney (b/s). A few peripheral faults although both illustrating considerable efforts to find the addressee (2)

    1939-50 selection of mainly airmails to mostly the same family business in Sydney from Africa & Asia; including 1939 Ceylon franked 1r, 1939 Egypt to Fremantle, re-directed to Sydney, 1947 KUT registered airmail using decimal and pre-decimal values on the same cover, others from Macau (2), India, Malaya, Aden, South Africa, Japan, Hong Kong etc. Very mixed condition (28)

    1940 (14 May) registered, express, censored airmail cover Oradea, Roumania to Sydney bearing 2 x strip of four 30 lei tied by 'PASSED BY CENSOR' handstamp and with Australian censor tape at right. Backstamped Athens and Sydney. Slightly grubby though a very unusual origin/destination

    1942 (2 Dec) cover Melbourne to Scotland franked KGVI 2½d with censor tape and cachet at right, roughly handled in mail, piece of gummed paper affixed and framed 'ACCIDENTALLY DAMAGED BY/STAMP CANCELLING MACHINE' cachet in black applied. Interesting
