    1931 (23 Feb) use to Poland of 5d Registered Envelope uprated with 3d Air, 4d and 5d for acceleration by internal airmail service from Adelaide, various transits and Trzcianne arrival, 1/5d franking for 1-1Żoz item comprising Foreign rate (3d 1st oz + 2d 2nd oz), Adelaide-Perth airmail (3d per Żoz x 3) and 3d registration. Attractive and exotic origin/destination item

    1934 (24 Jan) real photo postcard (Botanical Gardens, Brisbane) used Brisbane to Germany bearing 2d + 6d tied by Brisbane slogan for 8d postcard rate via Karachi-Italy (where air service concluded). Fine example of a rare rate

    Estimate: $1,000 Realised Price : $850

    1934 (7 Dec) inwards airmail cover U.K. to NSW (Oberon) bearing KGV 3d and 1Żd, underpaying the airmail service, 'T210' in blue crayon and boxed 'TAX/(mss. 1/9)/No.1 SYDNEY' struck in red. On the front is affixed a 9d Macarthur, tied by Oberon datestamp and manuscript "Due" and initials, endorsed below '1/- see over x', and on the reverse is affixed a block of twelve perf 11 1d postage dues, tied by arrival datestamp. A remarkable and rare cover, showing genuine (though unauthorised) use of the 9d Macarthur as a postage due stamp. 1990 RPSL Certificate

    1935 (3 Dec) cover (flap roughly opened) by airmail from Sydney to Japan, typewritten 'Passenger - "President Wilson" ['Lincoln' mss above]/from Hong Kong - December 18th.', Shipping Line datestamp and Japanese handstruck and mss. markings on front, backstamped Yokohama. Rare 10d per Żoz Australia-Singapore airmail

     

    Lot 98
    Estimate: $500T Realised Price : $1,050

    1936 (23 Jun) commercial airmail cover Melbourne to Madeira via London (where air service was terminated) at 1/8d Żoz rate, backstamped Funchal (14 Jul 1936). Great destination
