    1912 (4 Apr) cover to USA bearing ½d values from each of the six Colonies tied by Sydney datestamps, minor ageing

    1915 (6 Sep) cover to C.F. Belcher at Entebbe, Uganda, from his brother Norman, bearing rare 'On Active Service/NO STAMPS/AVAILABLE' adhesive label tied by two strikes of 'AUSTRALIAN.IMP.FORCES/BASE/POST OFFICE' datestamp, backstamped Alexandria, Mombasa, Entebbe. The addressee (later 'Sir Charles') was a Victorian who joined the British Colonial Service and became Conveyancer to the Govt of Uganda. This cover is illustrated on p249 in ‘British Empire Campaigns and Occupations in the Near East 1914-1924’ by John Firebrace

    c.1944 propaganda leaflet, printed Australia Coat of Arms [plus red ribbons on reverse] 'To all our relations and friends in Alu' (believed to be on Santa Isabel in the Solomons) with notes on not helping Japanese and be prepared for Australians arrival - 'The Japs have been cleared out from all the islands here right down the western end except Alu'. A rare survivor
