    Lot 602
    Estimate: $500 Realised Price : $380

    Registration labels: Mounted collection in two albums of all States but strength in New South Wales with most types represented, including provisionals, with some complete sheets and a few covers. Condition generally fine and a good basis for further expansion (many 100s)

    Estimate: $100 Realised Price : $75

    Registration labels: Extensive range of mounted alphabetically on leaves inc military section (NAVY P.O. DARWIN, FPO 189 - in manuscript, R.A.A.F, LAVERTON etc), Noted Western Australia, New South Wales (Abbotsford to Yerranderie inc manuscript 'Auburn North', 'Bargo', 'Binda', 'Ben Buckler', 'Crown St, Wollongong'. 'Gore Hill', 'Glenorie' 'Jerry Bailey', 'Missenden Rd', 'Nth Randwick', 'Seaforth', 'Thora'), ACT, Victoria (Avoca to Yarrawonga inc manuscript 'Darlimurla' and 'Launching Place'), Tasmania, Queensland (Ayr to Warwick). Majority fine (Hundreds)

    Estimate: $600 Realised Price : $700

    Registered covers: Collection mounted in three albums, all States represented, mostly 1930s to 1970s, with a few earlier. The covers have been selected to show the various registration label types and include many provisional labels and manuscript types. Also includes some registration receipts and loose registration labels. Some covers with faults, but condition generally good and a very fine lot. (194 covers)

    Estimate: $150 Realised Price : $145

    Military Post Offices: Range of 1940s and 1950s registered covers on leaves showing a variety of provisional and permanent registration label types. Included are Naval POs at Jervis Bay (2), Balmoral (2), Watson's Bay, Nowra (2), and HMAS Supply, RAAF PO 4113 (2) and West Melbourne, and a good range of Army POs including Parap, NT (2). Some faults but generally fine (34 covers)

       

    Lot 606
    Estimate: $200 Realised Price : $150

    Special Events: 1947-70 group of registered covers from temporary post offices, the earliest for Sydney Harbour Bridge N.W. Pylon, scarcer covers include PICAO (Melbourne, 1947), 12th Pacific Science Congress (Canberra, 1971), 7th Water Resources Conference (Canberra, 1966), 3rd Commonwealth Empire Law Conference (1965, Sydney), 7th World Rover Scout Moot (Clifford Park, 1961). A few covers include the registration receipt bearing the special postmark (16 covers)

    Estimate: $200 Realised Price : $150

    Migrant Camps: 1949-1950 group of registered covers from Migrant Camps in New South Wales and Victoria, mostly addressed to NSW State Lotteries, showing a variety of registration label types, and comprising Cowra Camp, Chullora Camp, Bathurst Camp, C.I.C. Bonegilla, Greta Camp and Parkes Camp. Some with a few stains but generally fine, a scarce lot (18 covers)

    Estimate: $250 Realised Price : $120

    1932 (7 Oct) registered cover addressed to Manly bearing 5d KGV tied by 'GOVT HOUSE GARDEN FETE/SYDNEY' cds used during the fete in aid of the Bush Nursing Association 6-7 October 1932, and with blank registration label with special postmark superimposed. Some staining of registration label but very scarce. Australian Pictormarks (2013) Cat $AU600

     

    Lot 609
    Estimate: $120

    1934-66 group of registered souvenir covers from Philatelic Exhibitions with special registration labels, comprising Adelaide (1955, 1960), Bendigo (1951), Brisbane (1959), Melbourne (1934, 1950, 1956), Newcastle (1947 x 2), Perth (1966), Sydney (1937, 1959). Few covers with minor stains, otherwise fine (12)

      

    Lot 610
    Estimate: $75 Realised Price : $140

    1935 (18 Nov) registered 'Howard Johnson' cover from Cape Borda to St. Peters (SA). Adhesive cancelled with 'CAPE BORDA/S.A.' cds, and with Kingscote printed registration label. Cape Borda was a telephone office at a lighthouse on the west coast of Kangaroo Island

     

    Lot 611
    Estimate: $120

    1936 (29 Apr) illustrated registered cover to Footscray franked Cable 2d & 3d tied by 'CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION' datestamps with time in date, rubber-stamped blue & black registration label numbered 250. Scarce

     

    Lot 612
    Estimate: $200 Realised Price : $120

    1936 (14 Oct) registered cover addressed to Granville bearing 2d Anzac block of 4 cancelled 'ANZAC RIFLE RANGE/N.S.W.' cds, and with manuscript registration label (No. 295). Some tone spots on selvedge of plate block and around reg label, but very scarce. Australian Pictormarks (2013) Cat $AU600

     

    Lot 613
    Estimate: $120

    1936 (21 Oct) illustrated registered cover to Sydney franked with SA Centy 2d & 3d tied by hexagonal (21 Oct) Centy & 7th Philatelic Exhibition cancels, registration label in blue. Only 100 registered items posted on the 2nd day of the Exhibition

     

    Lot 614
    Estimate: $200

    1937 (Mar 25) printed window envelope for Royal Easter Show, Sydney, with 2d KGV tied by 'SHOW GROUND/SYDNEY' cds; plus 1941 (10 Apr) registered cover with 2d and 3d KGV tied by 'SHOW GROUND/SYDNEY' cds and with printed 'Showgrounds, Sydney' registration label. The Sydney Showgrounds were used by the armed forces between 1940 and 1946; however, Hopson records that the military P.O. was closed between 1.3.1941 and 20.7.1941, when the temporary Show Grounds P.O. was apparently re-opened, but examples are rare (2 covers)

    1937 (5 Oct) souvenir registered cover addressed to Geelong bearing 2d and 3d NSW Sesqicentenary tied by 'AIRMAIL EXHIBITION/MELBOURNE' special postmark and with special printed registration label, also bearing Exhibition sticker, fine. Australian Pictormarks (2013) Cat $AU160

    1940 (2 Jul) registered 'Turley' cover from Borroloola (N.T.) to St. Kilda, Vic., with Type S.3A registration label with manuscript 'BORROLOOLA/N.T.', some minor soiling on cover

    Estimate: $100

    1949 (29 Dec) registered cover addressed to Rose Bay, N.S.W., from Pan-Pacific Scout Jamboree (Yarra Brae, Vic) bearing block of 4 of the 2½d commemorative cancelled by special hexagonal postmark, and with provisional blank registration label with handstruck inscription. Australian Pictormarks (2013) Cat $AU160

    Estimate: $100

    1971 (26 Jul) unaddressed registered cover for the Australian Federation of Travel Agents Convention, Perth, bearing AAT 1971 6c and 35c Antarctic treaty commemoratives tied by the special printed, and with handstamped registration label (No. 009). Accompanied by registration receipt bearing special postmark. Only 21 registered items were posted. Few tone spots at top but rare, Australian Pictormarks (2013) Cat $AU150
