    9d Purple Die II (substitution for IIB) tied by Sydney G.P.O. Air Mail Section machine-cancel to 1935 (10 Sep) airmail cover to Java, nice solo franking for ½oz airmail rate. The Die II is catalogued at AU$100 used (see BW p2/78 at foot). Attractive combination of a scarce stamp and rate

    5/- Grey and Yellow-Orange together with 2/- Silver Jubilee, 9d Kangaroo and KGV 1d (on reverse), making a combined franking of 7/10d, tied by Late Fee Spencer St (Vic) cds to parcel tag endorsed 'Trans-Aust Air Mail/Per SS 'Narkunda'', indicating article was accelerated by airmail within Australia thence by 'Narkunda', which plied the route to U.K. 7/9d for article 11-11½oz (5/9d of which was for airmail and 2/- surface) plus 1d Late fee. Rare and colourful franking
