Endorsed ‘pr Melbourne’ and ‘Postage paid thro’ with London arrival ds in red (2 JY 1853) and manuscript ‘1/-’ incoming packet letter charge on face, and ‘SHIP LETTER/SYDNEY’ despatch ds on back flap. This cover was carried on the first mail leaving Sydney after the introduction of the new packet rate of 1/3d per ½ ounce. From the Dale-Lichtenstein and ‘Manwood’ collections.
