    1867 (30 Oct) cover from Scotland to 'The Hon Edward Stafford, Wellington', franked by G.B. 6d (hyphen) Plate 6, SG 104, endorsed 'Via Panama', flap tears from opening. Only small mails were carried to Australasia via this short-lived route (June 1866 to Dec 1869). [Edward Stafford was New Zealand's first Premier and Colonial Secretary, and member for the Province of Nelson in the House of Representatives]
