    1879-81 Wmk Crown over Q (II) Perf 12 1d Reddish-Brown Die I, 2d Blue shades (Die I, 4), 4d Orange-Yellow block of 4 and single, 6d Green block of 4 and single, plus 1880 ½d on 1d optd Type 1 diagonally (in black except for 4d and 6d blocks and 4d single, in violet), mostly large part o.g.     1879-81 Wmk Crown over Q (II) Perf 12 6d Yellow-Green imperforate plate proof with Type 2 ‘CANCELLED’ overprint and manuscript blue crayon marks at top left and lower right, roughly cut but just clear at right, very scarce

    1880 Wmk Crown over Q (II) ½d Vermilion imperforate litho essay horizontal pair showing the final approved design (white background behind head, and "Q" with tail to right) optd with faint Type 1 diagonally

    This ½d essay was prepared to replace the ½d on 1d provisional. A large block of this essay with Type 1 overprint is in the Australia Post archives, dated 26 February 1880. The stamp was cancelled the following day after the proposed rate change did not eventuate
