    1886 Reprint on Thin Unwatermarked Paper Perf 11½ 8d Dull Lilac optd ‘REPRINT’ (17 x 2½mm)

    The REPRINT overprint was applied in 1886 to the remainder of the 1879 reprint. That printing represents the only local printing made from the De La Rue 8d plate in Hobart, as the 1878 London printing lasted until after Federation

    Butler records this stamp imperforate on watermark TAS Type II paper, but not on this unwatermarked pelure paper

    This was the only Sideface reprint supplied to the U.P.U. with the initial distribution of December 1889

    This was a special reprint made for inclusion in the 1901 presentation set to Federal Parliamentarians

    1901 Reprint on Thin Ungummed Card Imperforate ½d on 1d Red block of 30 from lower right-hand pane with Current No. 41 optd ‘REPRINT’ (17 x 2½mm). Shows the major plate flaw on stamp No. 60

    This block represents imperforate remainders from the special reprint made for inclusion in the 1901 presentation set to Federal Parliamentarians

     

    Lot 238

    1901 Reprint on Thin Gummed Card Perf 11½ 2½d on 9d Blue block of 30 from upper right-hand pane with Plate No. 7 optd ‘REPRINT’ (17 x 2½mm). Full unmounted o.g. with gum thin in gutter selvedge only

    This was a special reprint made for inclusion in the 1901 presentation set to Federal Parliamentarians
