These stamps were remainders held in Perth and returned to Melbourne following Federation, and subsequently cancelled-to-order for presentation purposes. The number of stamps dealt with in this manner must have been very small as examples are rare. The 4d has portions of the year date, probably ‘03’. (See the WA Handbook, page 223)
