    2½d KGVI vertical imprint block of 20, BW 230ba, the left-hand column showing a double strike of the perforating comb. A spectacular double perf error

    2½d KGVI upper left corner block of 10 showing misplaced additional strike of perf comb on left column, BW 230ba. Fine, hinged in selvedge only

    Estimate: $400 Realised Price : $440

    2½d KGVI double strip of 32 from base of sheet showing left-hand imprint almost completely missing due to ink stripping, BW 230zo. Hinged in selvedge, very scarce. Cat AU$450

    2½d KGVI Sheet A gutter block of eight showing large portion of Plate No. '3' without dots, BW 230zc. Hinged in gutter only and very rare, being perhaps the only recorded example of this plate number. Cat AU$4000

    2½d KGVI Sheet A gutter block of eight showing complete Plate No. '18' without dots, BW 230zf. Fine unmounted and probably the only known example of this plate number. Cat AU$4000

    Estimate: $3,500 Realised Price : $4,000

    2½d KGVI Sheet B gutter block of eight showing complete Plate No. '20' with dots, BW 230zg. Hinged on one unit and with diagonal crease, still one of only two recorded examples, with the other showing only a small portion of the number. Cat AU$4000

     

    Lot 653
    Estimate: $5,000 Realised Price : $10,500

    2½d KGVI Sheet C lower gutter block of 14 (7x2) showing complete Plate No. '21' without stops, the right-hand column also with grossly misplaced perfs resulting in the stamps being largely imperforate. This block possibly derives from the 1950 NPB thefts, nevertheless it is a remarkable combination of plate number and error. The only recorded example of this plate number

     

    Lot 654
    Estimate: $4,000 Realised Price : $5,000

    2½d KGVI Sheet D gutter imprint block of eight showing complete Plate No. '25' with dashes, BW 230zl, as a result of a large paper fold. Diagonal crease through block [caused by paper fold] and tone spot on one unit, nevertheless a spectacular piece. The only recorded example of this number. Cat AU$4000

    3½d KGVI marginal block of four on Thin paper, BW 231a, hinged in selvedge only. Cat AU$300

     

    Lot 656

    5½d Emu gutter imprint block of 18, BW 232k, incl variety 'retouched grass above STA of POSTAGE ' on right pane, R10/2. Block with some overall toning. Cat AU$200+

    5½d Emu gutter imprint block of four, BW 232k, including variety 'retouched grass above STA of POSTAGE ' on right pane, R10/2, few small tone spots. Cat AU$200+
