Lot 227
| | Estimate: $750 | Realised Price : $1,250 |
1913 First Wmk Collector's Set comprising ½d to 5/- CTO and 10/-, £1 and £2 optd italic 'Specimen' plus 1d Engraved CTO (2). The ½d, 1d, 3d, 5d, 9d, 1/-, 2/-, 5/- and 1d Engraved are quarter cancels, all probably DE 5 13, and the 2½d and 6d apparently have abnormal 'G.P.O./MELBOURNE' datestamps. Also additional 1d, 2½d and 3d with DE 3 13 cancels with flat-top '3', 2½d with '31' date, and 1d Engraved with 1914 date. Some stamps no gum, and the three specimens heavily hinged, still a good lot for the specialist in these stamps (22) |
