    IMPORTANT NEW DISCOVERY - Dutch East Indies (Tjilatjap) to Broome: 1942 (8th Feb) unstamped cover to Hudson Fysh at Sydney with typewritten 'SECRET', reverse sealed with wax wafers impressed with 'BRITISH AIRWAYS/KARACHI' seal and message in hand of Hudson Fysh (signed lower right) 'Arrived at Sydney 12/2/42 -/First trip TJILATJAP - Broome/Route eliminating call at/Koepang and Bima after loss/"Corio". Empire Flying Boat/Capt Thomas/[Capt] Sims Navigator/G - AEUC "Corinna"'. This route was introduced as an emergency measure following the shooting down of the "Corio" (on charter to QANTAS from B.O.A.C.) near Koepang on 30 Jan 1942. A commercial item for a flight for which no other First Flight cover has been reported. Ex Sir Hudson Fysh
