    1937-49 Perf 13½ x 14 ½d Kangaroo pane of 80 from Sheet A showing late state of 'Cracked Plate' through top line of McCracken imprint. Hinged in selvedge and on one or two units, and one insignificant tone spot. BW 178zba, cat AU$450+

    1937-49 Perf 15 x 14 KGVI 1½d Red-brown used with QE 1d Red-brown for 2½d letter rate commercial cover 1942 (22 Jun) Adelaide to Tumby Bay, a very scarce stamp on cover

    1940 A.I.F. extensive annotated collection in two albums, mainly of plate varieties, all but a few used, with duplicate copies of most flaws, and including a number of the BW listed varieties, mostly 1d and 2d but also with representation of the 3d and 6d. Also with sets of M imprint blocks of 4 and pairs, and three FDC's. An interesting lot capable of further expansion, with 609 1d (16 M), 287 2d (20 M), 33 3d (12 M), 39 6d (11 M)

    1940 A.I.F. 2d Scarlet block of 4 with triangular-shaped flaw at centre caused by the adhesion of foreign matter during printing. Upper pair toned where hinged, lower pair unmounted, an interesting printing freak

    1948-56 Coat-of-Arms £1 used with contemporary 2/- pair, 3d and 4d attractively tied to 1952 (18 Mar) parcel tag from Perth to Harvey, 24/7d aggregate paying 3½d first oz. + 2½d per additional oz. x 113 + 9d registration fee (PO rules dictated that articles bearing gold, silver and precious metals, being ineligible for parcel rates, had to be sent at letter rates, and could be registered only when paid at letter rates)

    1948-56 Coat-of-Arms £2 on 'Thin Paper' MUH with variety 'Roller Flaw below E of POSTAGE'. A very rare combination of varieties, centred low otherwise fine, and with 2014 Ceremuga Certificate which curiously does not mention the plate flaw. BW 271ad, cat AU$1500++

    1949 No Watermark Coil Perf ½d Kangaroo Dull Yellow-orange pair, so-called 'Mellow Yellow' shade, BW No. 180C, from the single sheet discovered in 1996, with BW Certificate (1997), MUH, gum trifle discoloured (normal shade pair accompanies) (4)

    1950-52 2½d Scarlet KGVI gutter block of 8 from top of sheet with partial Plate No. '3' (or possibly '5') with dashes, very fine and mounted only in selvedge. The number is unlisted by BW

High cat value and a useful lot for the reseller (336)

    1963-65 5d Green QEII booklet stamps variety 'Plate Crack above Oval' (Panel J 1/2), neat cds cancel clear of variety but with tone spots; and variety 'Plate Crack at Top Left and Above Oval', an early state showing crack above oval only, neat cds cancel and fine. Very rare varieties in green of which only several examples of each have been recorded. BW No. 400k, 400l, cat AU$1000 (2)
