Customs label on reverse indicates the contents were 'Documents' weighing 3½ lbs. This is confirmed by the total franking of £8/18/3d, representing 1/6d x 117 plus 1/10d registration + 11d express. All stamps are very fine, two corners of the envelope were damaged on opening and there is the inevitable further creasing for such a heavy letter. Nevertheless an exceptional modern high value franking |
