    1916 (10 May) cover with British Administrator's colourless embossing on reverse, franked NWPI opt on 2½d Kangaroo tied by 'PLEASANT ISLAND/NAURU' cds, used to Moudon, Switzerland, arrival backstamp. Extremely rare provisional usage

    1918 (18 Nov) OHMS registered envelope to England with NWPI opts on KGV 1d Red and Kangaroo 3d tied by strikes of Rabaul cds, red and black provisional registration label 'RABAUL' handstamped on Deuolon, double-oval The Treasury Rabaul cachet at lower left, backstamps of Sydney, Liverpool and Bracknell, minor blemishes. Still rare and attractive

    1921 (May) cover to Germany endorsed at top 'NEWS PAPER ONLY' franked with NWPI opt on KGV 1d Red strip of 3 tied by two Rabaul datestamps, re-addressed on arrival in Hamburg to Bad Wildungen and overstruck with Hamburg machine type, reverse with types 'E Class, Rabaul, New Britain . . . ' Very unusual

    1922 (22 May) registered use of New South Wales OHMS 'Penalty' envelope to Transvaal with NWPI opt KGV 1d Red punctured 'OS' SG o3 (5) tied by four strikes of Rabaul cds, black registration label, backstamps of Rabaul, Sydney and Langlaagte arrival, minor blemishes. Very rare franking to an exotic destination. Cat 275++ as stamps and 'from x 8' on cover = £660
