    1916-31 Bicoloured Lakatois 5/- Black and Deep Green CA and JBC Monogram block of 6 MUH, fresh appearance with with gum typically a little toned. SG 104, cat £330++

     

    Lot 1056

    1930 'AIR MAIL' Overprints 3d, 6d and 1/-, the latter with overprint in Dark Carmine(SG 117 variety) all very fine on registered cover from Samarai to England. The 1/- Dark Carmine Opt being extremely rare on cover with very few known. Ceremuga Certificate (2001)

    1948 (12 Feb) cover to Sydney with Australian 5½d Emu tied by Kawieng (?) cds, handstruck 'DEFICIENT POSTAGE TAX' in violet with manuscript '6d', and with 1946-56 Redrawn Value Plates 3d pair tied by Sydney cds. Scarce

    Estimate: $200

    1952 (15 Jan) cover to St. Lucia with Australian ½d Kangaroo pair tied by Bulolo datestamp, and with 'INSUFFICIENTLY/PREPAID', St. Lucia 4c and 16c postage dues affixed tied by Vieux-Fort cds. Probably philatelic but a scarce and unusual usage

     

    Lot 1061

    1945 (30 Oct) registered cover to Sydney, flown Port Moresby to Brisbane on the first official post-war civilian airmail, manuscript registration numbers, cancelled with relief 'P.M.G.'s DEPT C.1/30OC45/QLD-AUST', backstamped on arrival. AAMC 1010a, cat AU$100. Only a small number of registered letters was carried
