1860-66 6d Orange Beaded Oval used on 1860 (25 Oct) cover from Melbourne to Hong Kong tied by Barred numeral '1', endorsed 'pr "Behar" via Ceylon', and with Hong Kong arrival backstamp (DE 11 60). Light horizontal filing fold, small stain at top right on reverse, and small repaired tear at top, but of very fine appearance. A very rare stamp on cover, with perhaps only seven or eight known, this being one of the finest, with the added attraction of the despatch date representing the day on which the stamp was first delivered into stock, and thus this cover is the first day of use
