£1 Rose-lilac and Claret Perf. 12 very fine used, centred lower right and cancelled by Sydney duplex of (J)U 25 86. Few black marks on reverse of no significance. A much rarer stamp in used condition compared to mint. The only other used example of this stamp that can be traced is the one in the H.L. White Collection in the Mitchell Library. Basset Hull records that 77 stamps from this printing were issued for use in May 1886, which accords with the date on the used stamp offered here. SG 240a, unpriced
