Campbell & Co: Stone 5, 2d Black-Violet 'Substituted transfer' horizontal pair [32-43], SG 20ca, [32] substituted for [42], large-margined except where barely touched at lower right. Kellow records only seven substitutions in multiples (also a single), two in The Royal Collection. The premier item in the substitutions in private hands. Illustrated Kellow Colour plate 5.     1855-56 Lithographed by Messrs Campbell & Fergusson: Stone A, 2d Purple four-margined singles [47], [48] and [14], SG 36a, tied to 1856 (22 Feb) mourning envelope (small flap fault) from Ballarat to Sydney. Ex Purves, Perry

    1855-56 Lithographed by Messrs Campbell & Fergusson: Stone A, 2d Purple strip of four [12-15], tiny tear in third unit, otherwise superb. Ex Burrus, Purves, Kellow

    1855-56 Lithographed by Messrs Campbell & Fergusson: Stone B, 2d Brown [2], SG 37, large-margined, lightly cancelled, slight stain on reverse. This extremely rare shade, similar to Ham's 'chestnut' (SG 18a) and Campbell's 'black' (SG 22a), is believed to be a proof/colour trial pressed into postal use. Kellow states 'about one dozen copies known' clearly confirming that the 70 catalogue value is irrelevant. Ex Perry

    1856 Imperforate 1d Green, SG 40, selection on leaves comprising examples unused (3), used (82) including few pairs, postmark interest with two examples showing portion of barred oval, cover used locally at Geelong though with single 1d franking, various examples showing doubling and re-entries in designs (85). Retail as normals AU$2400+
