    1928 3d Kookaburra Miniature Sheet on Orlo-Smith & Co registered FDC, with scarce unnamed Exhibition registration label and special red datestamp (also on reverse)

    1944 KGVI 2d Purple block of four from lower right corner of sheet on 'Hayward C Parish' FDC registered at Matraville (NSW), also backstamped. Parish was employed at G.P.O. Sydney and is known to have produced FDCs for perforation changes, unwatermarked paper, coil perf, and other rare FDC permutations for himself and J.C. Thompson

    1964 Air Mail 5d, showing the major Re-entry to second 'A' of 'AUSTRALIA', BW 423d, a rarity used, this is the first example on FDC that we have recorded. The ACSC statement that '... sheets seem to have been only distributed in South Australia' is corroborated by this item being cancelled at Adelaide

    1964 QEII 5d Green Booklet pane of six on 'WCS' label address FDC cancelled at Adelaide

    Victoria Datestamps: Extensive collection wholly on FDCs (and therefore generally very fine cancellation strikes), 1940s-1970, apparently all different, many with 'WWW' numbers lightly pencilled on reverse along with rarity ratings for 'A' to 'M' offices, noted CNS (Box Hill #120A), RRRR (12), RRR (43) and RR (82) ratings, few others marked as 'unlisted variants' of otherwise listed cancels, some datestamps not in regular use also noted, covers generally fine and include some of the more unusual cachet-makers (approx 840). Very useful lot

     

    Lot 537
    Estimate: $1,500

    Postage Dues: 1954 (17 Feb) New Value Plate 1/- Carmine and Yellow-Green on unaddressed inscribed FDC by Arthur Bergen, stamp tied by 'TRANS AUST RAILWAY/1/PAY TRAIN' cds (another strike on reverse). Extremely rare (possibly as few as 10 prepared) and FDC unlisted in ACSC
