    1902 Blank Base 6d Emerald and 1902-04 Design Completed 1d Dull Green and 5d Emerald, each with 4-ring CTO cancel as used at Perth for U.P.U. distribution. 1d and 6d no gum, 5d part OG, and 1d somewhat faded. BW Nos. D9w, D17w, D29w, cat AU$300 (3)

    1902 Blank Base overprinted 'SPECIMEN' vertically (as used for Tasmanian U.P.U. distribution), range comprising d (2), 2d (2), 3d (2), 6d (2) overprint reading down, and 1d (2), 2d, 4d (2) and 8d (2) overprint reading up, six with extensive toning, mostly large part original gum, a useful group (15). BW cat AU$1500

    1902 Blank Base 2d Emerald-green and 1902-04 Base Completed 10d Emerald-green, both with 'ULTRAMAR' handstamp in violet. From the Queensland distribution to the U.P.U., which sent stamps in mint condition, with 'ULTRAMAR' handstamp applied in Lisbon prior to desaptch to Portuguese Colonies. Both no gum, otherwise fine. BW Nos. D5xe, D36x, cat AU$500

    1904 (7 Jan) PPC from Southport UK to Strahan (Tas) franked 1d KEVII, with hexagonal framed 'T/15', and oval '(3)D/MORE TO PAY', 1902 1d and 2d Blank Base dues added mss cancelled by pencil

    1904 (22 Oct) 'Tatts' cover from Collingwood (Vic) to Hobart franked 2d, with oval 'T4D', and with 1902 4d, 6d and 8d Blank Base dues affixed cancelled Hobart cds OC 25 (04) (year date apparently omitted). Closed spike hole as usual, and cancellations of postage dues somewhat smudged, but a scarce combination use of the 8d, the total of 1/6d being the total tax levied on a group of covers

    1904 (8 Dec) Tattersalls cover (blemishes) from Silverspur (Qld) to Hobart with manuscript 'T 4d' and Design Completed 1/- postage due (BW No. D37) solo franking tied by indistinct Hobart cds, apparently representing three similar underpaid articles, backstamped Stanthorpe, T.P.O. and Hobart datestamps. Rare on cover

    1910 (2 Dec) Johnson & Johnson cover to Sydney from U.S.A. bearing 5c perfin 'J&J', apparently overweight and taxed, 3d Wmk Crown over Double-lined A Thick Paper postage due (BW No. D84) affixed and tied by unusual barred circle, an elusive stamp on cover, particularly as a solo franking

    1924 (2 May) late use of Victorian Official Education Department stationery envelope from Maindample to Melbourne, underpaid for 1d letter rate, and taxed single deficiency, d Third Wmk postage due (BW No. D105) tied by Colonial-era '1' killer, a rare late use of that device. Very scarce and attractive solo use of this denomination

    1937 printed matter cover from G.B. franked KEVIII d to Brisbane, circular 'CUSTOMS/D/DUTY' applied and Postage Due 1931-37 C of A Wmk d affixed in lieu of Customs Duty stamp and tied by Brisbane cds (15FE37 - clear strike on reverse). Rare solo use of d postage due for this purpose

    1938 (24 Jan) cover (opening faults) from Hobart to Sydney bearing KGV 5d, informative handstamp advises over oz and taxed 6d (double deficiency) accordingly, with 1931-37 C of A Wmk 3d postage due (BW No. D118) scarce pair affixed and tied by Delivery Room GPO Sydney cds. Attractive example of this very difficult stamp on cover
