    Western Australia: Datestamps, a motley lot 1904-1979, Aberdeen St - Yarloop, first is a fair backstamp of rare 'Savings Bank/Beverley W.A.' on inwards cover, noted 1926 Korrelocking (franked 3 x KGV SMW perf 14 ½d), 1953 Donnelly River Mill, 1959 oval 'District Inspector Narrogin', 1963 Nornalup, 1967 oval 'District Postal Manager/Metropolitan No. 1, W.A.', 1979 Shay Gap No 104 relief on PO Messenger Delivery cover, 1960s illustrated covers (6) including Wyndham Port (27)

    1918 unframed 'HOCHKIRCH/MR 7/18/VICTORIA' cds on 1d Red Star envelope (Hochkirch was renamed Tarrington on 1/3/1918). Unique, the only example recorded after the name change. During world War I many Germanic place names were anglicised or otherwise altered. PO 21/1/1864; renamed Tarrington PO 1/3/1918

    1934 registered use of KGV 2d stationery envelope uprated with 3d Victorian Centenary to Footscray tied by superb strike of 'PRINCES PIER PORT MELBOURNE' datestamp (APM No 290), being the first day of use, and with black and blue 'rat's tail' registration label numbered '260', appropriate backstamps, cat AU$400+

    Melbourne Hazards: 1935-73 group that suffered in the mail, 1959 cover handstamp 'Damaged by fire in letter receiver', 1967 Mail Exchange fire cover with handstamp and letter, 1935 'Mutilated By', and 1961 'Accidentally Damaged by Stamp Cancelling Machine', 1958 with label 'This cover was torn in transit ... ', c1960 and 1970 'Received Torn', 1973 'Damaged by water', also 1960 with 'Stamp Fallen Off' and 19th century type oval 'Received Open', the handstamps fine to superb (9 covers plus letter)
