    AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH, QUEEN ELIZABETH II ISSUES

    Lot 398
    Estimate: $200 Realised Price : $150

    1953 Produce Food mint accumulation with panes 3d and 3d panes of 50 (both with toning), and range of multiples with 3d (93, incl six blocks of 9, and block of 6 punctured 'G/NSW'), and 3d (96 incl six blocks of 9 and block of 6 punctured 'G/NSW'), and including a number of the listed varieties. Some toning but generally very fine and largely MUH (3d 143M, 3d 146M)

    Estimate: $7,000

    1953 Produce Food 3d and 3d se-tenant strips of 3 presentation 'die proofs' in issued colours (actually imperforate stamps) in sunken mounts, with Note Printing cachets on reverse endorsed '6/23-1-53' (presented to Sir Daryl Lindsay of the Stamp Advisory Committee). Eight pairs of die proofs were prepared, one pair of which is in the Royal Philatelic Collection. A few tone spots on 3d Beef, otherwise fresh and superb and a rarely offered set. BW 287/8/9DP(1) and 290/1/2/DP(1), cat AU$18000 (2)

    1953-56 Queen Elizabeth II Definitives 1d to 6d largely mint accumulation on leaves and hagners, including shades, perf pip blocks, a number of listed varieties incl 3d 'Flaw in Hair' and retouches, and 3d re-entries. Some stamps with tone spots, but largely fine to very fine and mostly MUH. A useful lot (425 M and 12 U)

    1954 Royal Visit 3d Carmine-red M (150) & U (20) accumulation of plate varieties, mostly in positional multiples, and including 'Retouch to Duke's Forehead' State II in M block of 18 (badly toned) and U (2), Major Re-entry in M block of 8 (2) and U (8), plus a number of other listed flaws. Also 7d (21) and 2/- (21) M. High cat value (212)

Few stamps with tone spots, however condition generally fine to very fine and mostly MUH (4d 196M and 3U, 7d 45M, 10d 104M and 6U, 1/0d 31M, 1/7d 44M)
