Couple of small tone spots otherwise very fine and confirming the simultaneous distribution of both the Blank Base and Completed Base postage due issues

    1902 (24 Oct) cover from London to Roma (Qld) and readdressed to Toowoomba with 2½d KEVII, rated as overweight and with 'T/25' hexagon applied on despatch, double deficiency of 5d collected using Blank Base 1d Perf 11 and 2d Perf 12 x 11½ pair tied by Toowoomba cds, toning along top edge of cover, otherwise fine and attractive. The only recorded use of the rare 1d Perf 11 on cover, BW D4 cat AU$2500 on cover (incorrectly listed as a solo usage)

Back flap largely missing however a fine and early example of attempted use of invalid stamps

Back flap partly missing, repaired spike hole, fine appearance

    1904 (Sep) Tattersalls cover from Brewarrina (NSW) to Hobart with 2d, boxed 'DEFT 2D/FINE 2D/4D' applied and with manuscript '4d T' (obscured), Blank Base 8d block of 4 affixed and cancelled with central Hobart cds representing payment for eight similarly taxed items. Repaired spike and a few minor peripheral creases, otherwise a fine and a spectacular franking. Only five covers bearing the Blank Base 8d are recorded, this being the only multiple and generally regarded as the most important First Issue cover

    1904 (7 Sep) Tattersalls cover from Clermont (Qld) to Hobart with 2d, manuscript 'T 4d' (obscured), and with Blank Base 4d and 6d pair and singles (2) affixed and tied by Hobart cds, presumably representing the total due for seven similarly taxed items. Very fine (usual repaired spike hole) and a spectacular franking, being one of the finest First Issue postage due covers. BW rates the 6d on cover at AU$500

    1934 (10 Dec) airmail cover (opened three sides) from Nottingham to Kerang (Vic) carried on the second direct flight from England to Australia. Franked 4d representing only the surface rate plus airmail within Australia, the correct rate was 1/3d and hence 10½d underpaid, indicated by hexagonal 'T' handstamp with mss '210' (gold centimes), and with 'T' in oval added on arrival with mss '1/9' double deficiency. Reverse with 1941-36 ½d pair, 2d pair and 4d block of 4 Postage Dues cancelled Kerang cds 1 JA 35. A fine underpaid air mail cover
