1914 ½d Stamped-to-Order: Green Kangaroo used to uprate Tasmanian ½d Green embossed wrapper, cut-out (53 x 37mm) cancelled Hobart cds, 22JY14, almost certainly used by either the Hobart 'Mercury' or 'The Tasmanian Mail'. Archival records show only one stamped-to-order printing of the ½d Kangaroo, of 530 wrappers in May 1914 which must represent this compound stamping. The only such State/Commonwealth combination on any form of postal stationery. The only recorded example and an important piece. BW WS1, cat AU$750  | ||
