First Convoy: 1914 (24 Oct) illustrated Y.M.C.A. lettersheet with message headed 'HMT Ship Benalla', addressed to Melbourne with Albany cds and 'T' handstamp, with T 1D' in oval handstamp applied in Melbourne, vertical fold. The writer states '... we recon to reach Albany tomorrow . . . & stop there for 5 or 6 days . . . we would not be able to get leave to go ashore . . . we are not calling at Fremantle they still think we are going to England . . .
