    1870 (31 May) cover from Maryborough to Kapunda (S.A.) with 1868-78 Wmk Crown over Q (I) Perf 13 6d Yellow-green tied by '201' in rays cancel, Adelaide arrival cds on face, and despatch and Kapunda arrival datestamps on reverse. Back flap torn and defect at top left, however a scarce destination - Palmer records only seven covers to South Australia in the Chalon period, four of which are from this Kapunda correspondence

    1870 (28 Apr) long cover (240mm x 109mm) to Bowen with 2d Blue and 6d Yellow-green Wmk Crown over Q (I) Perf 13 tied by '59' in rays of Townsville, two vertical folds and slight portion missing at top left however a scarce quadruple inland rate not listed in the Palmer census

Roughly opened and reverse reinforced with hinges, and with peripheral wear

    1874 (17 Jun) OHMS lettersheet to Brisbane with 1868-74 Wmk Truncated Star Perf 13 2d Deep Blue cancelled '114' in rays of Norman River, despatch cds on face, with Townsville and Brisbane arrival datestamps on reverse, very fine. Manning rates '114' on cover from Norman River as RRRRR. Unlisted in the Palmer census

    1877 (12 Jul) cover to London readdressed to Staplehurst, Kent with Watermark Crown over Q (I) Perf 13 1d Orange-vermilion, 2d Blue and 6d Green cancelled barely discernible '102' in rays of Dingo, with datestamp below. Reverse with transit, arrival and redirected datestamps. Endorsed 'Via Torres Strait & Brindisi' and with handstruck '1D' in circle for redirection fee. Manning records no tie of '102' to Dingo; he rates the numeral RRRR. Portion of back flap missing, otherwise a fine and very attractive cover

    1879 (5 Nov) cover to London with 1868-78 Wmk Crown over Q (I) Perf 12 6d Yellow-green and 1879 First Sideface 2d tied by '570' numeral in bars of Townsville, endorsed 'Via Singapore & Brindisi', unusually without arrival backstamp, very fine mixed issue franking

    1879 (15 Nov) cover (slightly reduced at left) to Denmark with 1868-78 Wmk Crown over Q (I) Perf 12 6d Yellow-green and 1/- Mauve (for double rate via Brindisi) tied by indistinct '201' numerals of Rockhampton, with cds alongside, arrival datestamp on reverse. Light soiling but a very rare destination for Queensland mail, Palmer recorded only two covers from the Chalon period

    1881 (5 Jul) cover to London with 1879 First Sideface 6d pair tied by '198' numeral in bars of Aramac, reverse with Rockhampton transit and London arrival datestamps. Cover with small corner fault and ink spot, otherwise fine double rate cover unlisted in the Palmed census

    1881 (5 Dec) cover to Bath, Somerset with 1879-81 Wmk Crown over Q (II) 4d Orange-yellow Sideface tied by '33' in rays of Mackay, endorsed 'Via Torres Straits', with arrival backstamps. Fine appearance but back flap roughly opened. The 4d rate via Torres Straits and Southampton or Plymouth was introduced on February 1881

    1882 (12 July) cover to Warlingham, Surrey with 3d Brown Wmk Crown over Q (I) Perf 12 strip of 3 cancelled '33' in rays of Mackay, and endorsed 'By packet route'. Reverse with Mackay, Brisbane and Croydon arrival datestamps. Some peripheral wear nevertheless a good 9d Brindisi rate cover

Few small marks, otherwise fine

    1889 (11 Mar) cover to Washington D.C. (?) with 1882-83 4d Sideface (2) cancelled '450' in bars of Gympie, endorsed 'Via San Francisco', with illegible arrival backstamp, and with 'PAID/ALL' in circle. Cover slightly trimmed at left and with minor defects

    1889 (10 Sep) cover to Hannover, Germany with 1887-89 1d (3) and 1882-83 6d Sidefaces cancelled '59' in rays of Townsville, endorsed 'Per SS Dacca via Torres Straits' and showing a late use of the 'P.D.' handstamp in black, Brindisi transit and Hannover arrival backstamps. Fine and attractive example of the 9d rate

    1898 (12 Mar) registered cover to Hong Kong with 1895-96 ½d and 5d tied by straight-line 'REGISTERED/QUEENTON', with despatch datestamp below, and reverse with Townsville transit and Hong Kong arrival datestamps. Small portion of back flap missing, nevertheless an attractive cover to an unusual destination

    1900 (7 Mar) registered cover to Chicago with ½d, 1d and 4d tied by 'R' in oval, with 'REGISTERED/CHARTERS TOWERS' datestamp alongside. Reverse with Tacoma (Wash State) transit and Chicago registry arrival datestamp in red. Fine and attractive

    1901-05 Tattersalls covers, with registered covers with straight line 'REGISTERED' markings of Cooroy (1901), South Brisbane (1904), and Capella (1905), 1905 double rate cover from Boonah; also 1880, 1885 and 1894 Macartney covers to Melbourne. Usual spike holes, but mostly of good appearance (7 covers)
