    1863-80 St. George and Dragon Watermark Double-lined '1' 3d Green (2, one Perf 10 and the other Perf 11½) with ½d Orange and 2d Green (2) Sidefaces and ½d on 1d Sideface tied by '63' numerals on 1895 (9 March) registered cover from New Norfolk to London, despatch datestamp and boxed Hobart registration handstamp in blue. Presumed philatelic franking of 11d represents of ½d overpayment of the treble U.P.U. rate plus 3d registration fee, nevertheless a very scarce usage in fine condition.

    1863-80 St. George and Dragon Watermark Double-lined '1' Perf 12 10/- Salmon (2) and 3d Green used on small registered piece tied by Hobart duplex, JU 30 96. One of only two recorded examples of the 10/- value postally used on piece. SG F12, F17, cat £675

    1863-80 St. George and Dragon Watermark Double-lined '1' Perf 12(?) 10/- Orange used on small registered piece tied by Hobart duplex. Rare, and believed to be one of only two examples of the 10/- postally used on piece. SG F16, cat £275

    1880 Platypus Stamp Duty 1d Slate and 6d Mauve used with 2d Green Sideface tied by '25' numerals on 1883 (19 Nov) cover from Deloraine to Switzerland, prepaying 9d via Brindisi rate, with Launceston and arrival backstamps. Cover with three fumigation slits as a result of the 1883 cholera epidemic in Egypt. Very fine and a rare example of fumigated mail from Tasmania

    1880 Platypus Stamp Duty 3d Chestnut pair tied by '???" numerals on 1890 (20 Sep) cover from Latrobe to Walthamstow, England, Launceston and arrival backstamps on reverse. Very fine and clean

    1880 Platypus Stamp Duty very unusual use of 6d Mauve for postage due on 1901 (21 Aug) Tattersalls cover from Bathurst, N.S.W. with 2d postage, officially registered and therefore 6d due, indicated by affixing 6d Platypus pen-cancelled. Fine with repaired spike hole, a rare usage of regular stamps for postage due prior to supply of Commonwealth monocolour issue

    1880 Platypus Stamp Duty 1/- Rose-pink used on 1897 (30 Jan) Inland Parcel Post label, tied by '123' second allocation numeral, with Penguin Creek datestamp alongside. Label with a few imperfections including horizontal and vertical folds, neverthess of good appearance. A very scarce postal usage of the 1/- Platypus especially so on parcel label

    1880 Platypus Stamp Duty 1/- Rose-pink cancelled Launceston duplex on 1885 (30 Nov) mourning cover to Chicago subsequently readdressed, , with 'U.S. CURRENCY/5' for incoming charge and U.S. 5c postage due precancel affixed. Envelope with peripheral wear however a scarce use of the 1/- Platypus

    1900 St. George and Dragon 2/6d Lake opt. 'REVENUE' on piece cancelled Hobart datestamp, NO 30 1900, with 'REVENUE' overprint misplaced horizontally. With 1995 RPSV Certificate, stating 'genuine, but cancelled by favour & possibly back dated'. SG F30, cat £500

    1900 3d Chestnut Platypus Stamp Duty opt. 'REVENUE' pair used on 1900 (30 Nov) cover from Hobart to Sandy Bay, philatelic use on the last day of validity but sent through post with arrival datestamp on reverse. Very fine
