    Private Perfins: Mounted collection, with 'DS/& Co' (Dodgshun & Sons) on 1d (2) and 2d (2) Sidefaces; 'JW/&S' (J. Walch & Son) on 1d and 2d Sidefaces (very rare); 'McK/S/McK' (McKinlay's Department Store) on 1d (2), 2d Sidefaces, ½d Tablet, 1d (4) and 2d (3) Pictorials, also 1907 cover from Launceston to Forth with 2d Pictorial (only recorded cover); 'DWM/LTD' )D.W. Murray Ltd.) on ½d (2), 1d 7), 1d on 2d (5) and 6d Pictorials; 'IHC' (International Harvester Co.) on 9d Sideface (2), 1d (4), 2d (4), 4d (2) and 1d on 2d (2) Pictorials; 'AWF' (Australian Widows Fund) on 1d (8), 2d (2) Pictorials. Also interstate firms on Tasmanian stamps, with 'SB' (S. Bennett, Publishers, Sydney) on 1d Pictorial, and 'B&N' (Buckley & Nunn, Melbourne) on 1d, 3d, and 6d (2) Pictorials. Mostly fine and a wonderful group which would take many years to assemble. A rare opportunity (60 plus 1 cover)

    Estimate: $600T Realised Price : $800

    Tattersalls 'A' Punctures: Specialised used collection of the five types mounted on pages, displaying the various stamps found for each type and their positions on Tablets. Sidefaces, and Pictorials (both London Prints and Melbourne Printings), few multiples, pin varieties, rarities include Type 1b on 2d Sideface on piece, Type 2 on 3d Platypus Stamp Duty (one of two known). Also a good range of covers including 1d and 2d Pictorials on inland covers, unauthorised use of a 1d Pictorial on picture postcard, 2½d Pictorial on 1900 cover to Scotland, and 2½d Tablet on 1900 covers to London and India. Condition generally fine to very fine, and an exceptional lot (134 plus 9 covers)

    Tattersalls 'A' Perfins: Type 2 (upright) on 2d Sideface on 1899 (9 Oct) cover from Hobart to Melbourne, undelivered and with boxed 'UNCLAIMED AT/MELBOURNE', oval 'NOT KNOWN BY/LETTER CARRIER/MELBOURNE', and oval 'LIST ROO/No. 1' ds, all fine strikes, and with 'DEAD LETTER OFFICE/MELBOURNE' cds in red

    Tattersalls 'A' Perfins: Type 2 (inverted) on 3d Platypus Stamp Duty in combination with 2d Pictorial unpunctured on 1900 (30 Oct) 2d registration envelope from Hobart to Melbourne, very fine. The 3d Platypus a rare stamp with 'A' perfin. and possibly unique on cover

    Tattersalls 'A' Perfins: Type 2 on ½d Pictorial (upright) and 5d Tablet (sideways) on 1900 (18 Nov) registered cover from Hobart to East London, Cape Colony to serviceman. with chamfered boxed 'REGISTERED/HOBART' in blue, endorsed 'Left Corps' and undeliverable, with backstamps of Durban and East London, and with 'RETURNED LETTER OFFICE/CAPE TOWN' cds in red, and double oval 'DEAD LETTER OFFICE/HOBART' in blue (1 MAR 01). Filing slit barely affects 5d adhesive, otherwise a fine double rate registered letter, very scarce use of perfins to an overseas destination

    Tattersalls 'A' Perfins: Type 2 (sideways) on 2½d Pictorial on 1901 (Jul) cover from Hobart to Calcutta, India, redirected to South Africa with 'ARMY P.O. 50/S.AFRICA' cds and triangular PASSED/PRESS/CENSOR/PRETORIA', reverse with nine Indian or South African datestamps in an attempt to find the addressee. A scarce overseas usage of the 'A' perfin on cover

    Tattersalls 'A' Perfins: Type 2 upright on 2d Pictorial on 1904 (15 Jul) cover from Hobart to Broken Hill (N.S.W.), usual spike hole, undelivered with straight-line 'UNCLAIMED', and with various backstamps, including Dead Letter Office datestamps of Sydney (in red) and Hobart
