    1860 (28 Apr) entire letter from the Johnstone correspondence from Melbourne to Launceston franked 6d Woodblock Imperf (touched at left and right), endorsed per 'Black Swan' and with despatch and arrival backstamps. A late date of use for this stamp

    1872 (5 Jun) cover from London franked 6d Chestnut, resealed with selvedge on reverse with boxed handstamp 'RECEIVED TORN/AT G.P.O.' (34 x 11mm) apparently applied in error and overstruck with bold oval 'RECEIVED OPEN/AT/GENERAL POST OFFICE/VICTORIA'

    1893 (15 Jun) printed W. Brettschneider registered cover from Melbourne to Germany with 3d and 5d Stamp Duty tied by 'REGISTERED/MELBOURNE' cds, Hanover backstamp. Small tears at top and bottom of cover, otherwise fine

    1900s illustrated advertising envelopes for different hotels from Daylesford (actually Heywood Coffee Palace), Donald (2), Hamilton (unused envelope), Geelong, Healesville, Koroit, Melbourne (2) and Warrnambool, most with spike holes, however an impressive group (10, two are registered)

    1901 (7 May) cover from Langwarrin Camp with 1d pair tied by two strikes of Shield '1/MILITARY/ENCAMPMENT' datestamp, addressed to Forth, Tasmania. Very scarce
