    1833 (26 Oct) entire letter from St. Pierre to Bordeaux, charged '10' and showing framed 'PAYS D'OUTRE MER/PAR LE HAVRE' with Havre cds alongside, on reverse straight-line 'MARTINIQUE' (Jamet Type 12) and arrival datestamp; 1835 (6 Apr) entire letter from Fort Royal to Paris, charged '5' (deleted) and '6', showing framed 'PAYS d'OUTRE MER/PAR LER HAVRE' with blue arrival backstamp; 1835 (27 Oct) entire letter from St. Pierre to Le Havre charged '2' and showing on reverse fine straight-line 'MARTINIQUE' (Type 12) and arrival backstamp; 1836 entire letter from St. Pierre to Marseilles, charged '19' and showing framed 'PAYS D'OUTRE MER' with Bordeaux transit datestamp alongside, and straight-line 'MARTINIQUE' (Type 12) and arrival backstamp (4 covers)

Service' and showing on reverse two strikes of Martinique double arc ds (the second dated 28.5); 1856 (27 Aug) and 1857 (13 Jul) entire letters from St. Pierre to Paris and Nantes, showing despatch cds and h/s '12'; 1857 (28 Sep) entire from St. Pierre to Hamburg rated '129'; in red with Calais transit datestamp; 1857 (11 Nov) entire letter from St. Pierre to Bordeaux marked 'Par Packet Anglais' showing despatch cds, Calais entry datestamp and h/s '6'; and 1866 (2 May) internal envelope from Fort DE France to St. Pierre showing despatch and arrival datestamps and charged '1f20' (7 items)

    1859 (26 Nov) entire letter from St. Pierre (despatch cds) to Bordeaux, with Calais entry datestamp and handstruck '12'; 1859 loal entire letter to St. Pierre with arrival cds and '30'; 1859 (27 Jun) entire letter from St. Pierre (despatch cds) to Marseilles, Calais entry datestamp and handstruck '6'; and 1859 (11 Aug) entire letter from St. Pierre (despatch cds) to Marseilles with framed 'PD' in red and Calais entry datestamp (4 covers)

    1865 (26 Apr) cover from St. Pierre to Marseilles franked with French Colonies 10c and 40c tied by 'MCE' lozenge, with despatch cds and framed 'PD' in red, arrival backstamps

     

    Lot 957

    1870 (19 Oct) entire letter from St. Pierre to Marseilles, paying double weight confirmed by '2' in manuscript, bearing French Colonies 20c and 40c (2), good margins tied by 'MQE' lozenges, showing despatch and red arrival French entry cds alongside, octagonal 'COL. FR. PAQ. FR. N4' and arrival backstamp, carried by the 'Guadeloupe' and arriving in France on 14 November when Paris was besieged by the Prussians

     

    Lot 958

    1872 (28 May) entire letter from St. Pierre to Bordeaux, marked 'steamer via Barbados' bearing Napoleon 30c and Ceres 40c (Maury 9 and 13) tied by 'MQE' lozenges with despatch cds alongside. The cover was carried on the 'Tyne' which arrived in Barbados on 29 May, then transferred to the 'Tagus' which left the next day and arrived in Plymouth on 12 June. A rare routing
