    1842-77 selection (6) comprising 1842 on unusual advertising (internally) envelope with 1d but curiously endorsed 'Free', 1843 stampless entire with nice '1D I' marking, 1854 with imperf 1d (late fee) and 2d (large-margined), 1858 cover with 2d (2, SG 34 or 35) to France, 1871 4d rate to U.S. with line-engraved 1d and surface-printed 3d, and 1877 with 1d perfin 'G R/W'. Nice group

    1800s to late 1900s miscellaneous Postal History, mostly 20th-century including Express Post, many Instructionals (mostly 'Unclaimeds') including 1880 Sweden to London with framed 'Found in Inland Section/without contents', 'Accidentally Damaged in Transit', 'Missent' and 'MISDIRECTED', 'Contrary to regulations/53', etc, TPO's, 'TEST MAIL', novelty/curious cancels, registereds, perfins, etc (approx 300)

    1917 and 1937 Official covers to same addressee with cachets 'GR' and 'GRI/VI' from Sir E A Bacon, 1952 mourning envelope from the British Consulate General/Zagreb to South Africa, foreign office cachet (3 covers)

    1920s to 1970s (small number later) Slogan cancels on cover/card, odd duplication noted in form of different towns for same slogan (particularly for 1945 Victory and 1947 Wedding where the types are rather prolific), no doubt many scarcer types here, generally good strikes (many obtained by philatelists), (500+), also envelope of slogans on pieces
